§ 2-37. President; term of office.

  • (a)

    Both the president and vice-president of the council shall be elected in a manner as specified by state. The president shall preside at all council meetings at which he is present. In his absence, the duly elected vice-president shall preside.

    (b)

    The term of the president and vice-president shall be one year, and both incumbents may serve successive terms at the will and pleasure of the council. Notwithstanding, in accordance with state law, both the president and vice-president shall serve at the will and pleasure of the city council, and upon a majority vote of the city council, the president or vice-president may be removed or replaced at any time.
