§ 86-17. Unnecessary use of emergency safety response mechanisms; penalty for violation of section.

  • (a)

    In the interest and protection of the general public and to protect citizens of this city from the dangers of unnecessary emergency police responses, it shall be unlawful for any persons to knowingly report or cause to be reported to the police department any false information which such person knows or should know will initiate an emergency police response.

    (b)

    Any person who shall violate any provision of this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, shall be punished according to the provisions of section 1-10.
