§ 2-371. Purpose of division.

Since there are presently existing in the city a number of efficient and effective agencies engaged in planning for specialized and specific fields, the purpose and intent of this division is to use more effectively the recommendations of the existing boards and to cooperate fully and completely with the boards. One of the most important considerations in connection with the duties of the board established hereby is to engage in planning activities on an area or regional basis and to work with existing agencies in municipal, county and state government capacities for the development of the city and its entire metropolitan area which includes the county and adjoining counties. All of the activities set out in this section shall be conducted in a spirit of friendly and close cooperation for the accomplishment of the purposes set forth in this section.
